Pumping Station Monitoring & Control

Background

Shanghai City has two major water sources: upstream Huangpu River and Chenhang Reservoir. Because Huangpu River is located in the downstream of Taihu Lake, affected by the upstream and local pollution, the water quality is very poor and unstable and the demand of water supply is increasely growing. After this project implemented, Shanghai municipal water supply will be changed (currently 80% comes from the Huangpu River, 20% comes from the Yangtze River) to get 50% from the two rivers each.

#5 Groove Pumping Station is the heart of the Qingcaosha water system. Water supply will increse to 7.08 Million cubic meters per day, and it will be “number one in Asia, and number two in the world.”  It gets raw water from Qingcaosha Reservoir through 24 large pumping stations which pump the raw water to other pumping stations, and ultimately deliver to 14 large water treatment plants for high quality water supply.

Highlight

Multiple Redundancies: Dual-server redundancy, dual-link redundancy and redundancy for real-time data, historical data and alarm.

Data Caching and Resuming: When network is detected to be abnormal (such as outage or very slow speed), the real-time data will be cached on Local Disk.  After the network being recovered, cached data will be automatically sent to KingSCADA, KingHistorian and Monitoring and control center.  It ensures data integrity and accurate analysis.

Powerful Data Communication: KingHistorian is the database for the data center. KingHistorian, which is develeoped by WellinTech, is a leading historical historical databas in the world.

Various Accident Notifications: Accidents or events can be sent to operaters through voice message, call, SMS, or Email.  Types of notifications can be different in accordance with the different users, such as directors, operators, vendors, etc.

Interaction with Control Center: I/O Server communicates with I/O Master run in the center for data transmission and interaction across an internal interface.  It is fast and reliable for data interaction.  It ensures data interaction to be smooth and stable.
