Background
There are many remote monitoring and control application requirements from traditional industries and the data transmission is mainly adopted from dedicated networks, digital radios and other methods which usually have problems with long construction times, high cost and complex maintenance issues. With GPRS technology maturing and increasing network coverage improvements, KingView + GPRS solutions are the timely and stable economic choice.
Solutions
Monitoring Center Connected to Internet
Monitoring centers can connect to the Internet using fixed public network IP addresses or with a public network Dynamic IP + DNS analytical services. Acquisition stations initiate a connection directly to the monitoring center. Most users currently prefer to use a public network dynamic IP + DNS analytical services which greatly reduces the cost of fixed public network IP addresses and are suitable for small scale applications.
Wireless Modem and APN
oth end device and monitoring center use Wireless Modems with fixed IP addresses of a mobile private network APN (Access Point Name). In this solution, it does not need to analyze DNS nor any other intermediate links, and it is very stable. All data is transmitted in an APN network without going through the public network which ensures security. This solution is provides cost effective industrial mobile operations.
Fixed IP Addresses within Network
An APN (Access Point Name) private network is used at the center and all collection stations adopt fixed IP addresses within the network. In this solution, customer center access to cellular GPRS through a 2M APN dedicated link. Private fixed IP addresses are used between two Internet Routers to connect with WAN, and GRE tunnels are used between GGSN (Gateway GPRS Support Node) and the Internet Router from a cellular provider. End-to-end encryption is used between mobile terminals and server platforms to avoid possible information leaks in the transmission process. A Firewall is used to isolate two sides with filtering IP addresses and ports, which provides very high security.
